Gravitas – Dinkey Tungsten Machine Finish
Gravitas – Dinkey is a combination of its pocket-sized form scaled down to that of a quark. Refined and practical – the Dinkey consists in the sum of lessons learned throughout the years from previous models of Gravitas and brings out the very best in design, choice of materials and craftsmanship.
The fountain pen is small, portable, and handy, placing emphasis on the material from which it is made. It showcases a unique range of materials that, up until now, have not been offered in the Gravitas lineup. The Tungsten used for the Dinkey is a special alloy containing Copper having great thermal conductivity and plasticity, Machine finish* means that the Dinkey Tungsten is as it comes from the lathe/machine and not undergoing the polishing procedure which makes it shiny, while polishing it will result in a satin grey pen, when polishing the copper content of the alloy gets subdued leaving more of the tungsten grey color satin texture to come up. (*when polishing this tungsten alloy – it becomes satin texture and grey – while leaving it unpolished as it comes from the machine – makes it shiny and copper color)
The Dinkey inner cap comes lined with Delrin in order to prevent scratches from posting, the section is made from copper, sporting an o-ring at the threading point with the barrel and the section is threaded in order to be compatible with a Jowo size #6 nib unit. (standard steel Jowo nib unit)
The writing point of the Dinkey is a Gravitas steel nib, available in extra fine, fine, medium, and broad and elastic fine options, powered by a generic plastic feeder.
