Namiki – Yukari Royale Maki-e Night Scene of Pavillion
Introducing the latest addition to the esteemed Yukari Royale fountain pen series, a masterful reinterpretation of a picturesque pavilion nestled deep within the enigmatic Chinese mountains. Across various Asian cultures, pavilions have long graced artwork not only as historical references but also as symbols of the profound depths of the human psyche.
The captivating Night Scene of Pavilion has been brought to life using the meticulous togidashi-taka maki-e technique. This method involves a burnished-raised design achieved by applying a layer of lacquer, followed by the delicate sprinkling of gold or silver powder, culminating in the application of an additional lacquer layer to secure the exquisite powder work. Throughout the pen’s artwork, you’ll encounter striking combinations of silver and gold powder set against a traditional black lacquer backdrop enriched with golden accents.
The Yukari Royale Night Scene of Pavilion is set to become a prominent fixture in the Namiki lineup. Each pen is painstakingly crafted and adorned with the distinctive signature of the master artisan, Yutaka Sato, a member of the esteemed Kokkokai Maki-e group. The fountain pen boasts a #20 18 karat gold nib embellished with rhodium accents, featuring the customary illustration of Mount Fuji. It conveniently fills via cartridge/converter, with a CON-70 converter included, and arrives beautifully packaged in a wooden box accompanied by a bottle of blue ink.
