By combining the urushi lacquer finish with the popular 1911 Full-Size pen body, the Rei Urushi-nuri series pens are favored by many fountain pen enthusiasts. Sailor Pen Urushi pens are made from ebonite, a natural resin, and meticulously finished by artist Masanora Sumi, who applies 12 layers of Urushi lacquer to each pen, giving each one a unique touch. Ebonite is a warm-to-the-touch material with rich elasticity and a unique texture that adds quality and character to the product.
The pen features a 21-karat gold nib (medium). The Rei Urushi-nuri series writing instruments can be used with both a converter and cartridges, making them easy to use. Each pen comes in a special presentation box and is protected by a textile case.
