Sailor introduces five limited edition colors in celebration of the 5th anniversary of their fountain pen ink collection, Sailor Manyo, which draws inspiration from the hues of flowers mentioned in the “Manyoshu.”
The “Manyoshu” – Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves stands as Japan’s oldest and most esteemed anthology of poetic compilations. It encompasses 4,516 poems contributed by individuals across all social strata, from emperors to merchants and farmers. The term “Manyo” is a shorthand for “Manyoshu,” signifying inclusivity across societal ranks.
Sailor Manyo 5th Anniversary Yu is a red fountain pen ink, inspired by this waka poem: “As evening falls, I gaze at the clouds, lost in contemplation. Thinking of my beloved, who is like the unreachable sky, far beyond where I can touch.”
