*Pen not in stock – available on order / delivery in 2 weeks from purchase
The Hyakko-Hisho collection from Taccia embodies both the beauty and the history of the ”Wajima” lacquer, one of the Japanese traditional cultures.
In the 17th century, Tsunanori Maeda, the feudal lord of the Kaga Domain, collected a series of historically important craftsmanship techniques now referred to as Hyakko-Hisho.
To honor the artwork and creativity of this original period, Taccia created the Hyakko-Hisho Limited Edition Collection to pay homage to the history and tradition of this celebrated period.
Each fountain pen is made by hand in the Taccia Urushi studio in Wajima, enhancing traditional inlay techniques with precious metals and lacquer.
To blend the old with the new, each fountain pen comes fitted with a Japanese 18K gold nib, over a selection of individually polished Ebonite barrels. To truly bring historical craftsmanship into your hand, each series is limited and signed by a Taccia maki-e artisan
The Taccia Hyakko-Hisho Kiwami collection features five different fountain pens: Hakumei, Wakayanagi, Kohaku, Hakudou and Seiheki.
