Taccia – Iro-Joukei Mutsu no Hana | December |
The limited edition Taccia Iro-Jokuei collection is inspired by science, geometry and balance. It combines old-world techniques with innovative design to produce a fountain pen that is not just beautiful in its minimalism, but also functional and luxurious in how it looks and feels.
To represent these intricate patterns, Taccia specially selected balancing tones paired with a perfect 12-sided barren in the most innovative Reserve LE. For each of the 12 months of the year, Taccia will launch a specific pen with a unique color limited to only 88 pieces for each individual color.
Each fountain pen starts off with raw ebonite barrels, coated with many layers of urushi lacquer by Japanese artisans. After the multiple layers of color are added, each barrel is sanded to bring out both the intricate 12 sided shape and the duo-tone contract from the urushi lacquer underneath.
The month of December is celebrated with Mutsu no Hana, or ”Six Flowers”, associated with Crystal Snow because the shape of crystal snow is a hexagon. Six flowers implies snow and the fountain pen’s design was inspired by the image of snow covering the earth and the view you get in a cold winter morning.
Each fountain pen comes with a specially fitted Japanese 14k gold nib, in six popular nib sizez to choose from.
