Taccia Utamaro Letter Set – Aomurasaki
Taccia released a stationery series as a tribute to the ukiyo-e woodblock prints.
Featuring beautiful art images, each set consists of eight A5 sheets and four envelopes. Both front and back of the paper are printed with the same image and complimented by the accompanying envelope that has a white front and the same image on the backside, so as when folding the letter paper*, the print matches the interior of the envelope beautifuly.
Ukiyo-e is an artistic movement of Japan which flourished between the 17th and the 19th centuries. Woodblock prints and paintings were inspired by nature and the beauty of human form, the term translating to ”pictures of the floating world”.
Utamaro Kitagawa is best known for having created a new type of female beauty which is featuring delicate and elegant drawing lines, pursuing beauty in various forms and expressions.
